Alvita Chan is a Human Factors Analyst with the Healthcare Human Factors Group at the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation. Her recent projects include the evaluation of various medical tools and technologies, including a tele-monitoring system for diabetic patients, physician order sets, smart infusion pumps, and a computer triage terminal.

Alvita received her MHSc in Clinical Engineering from the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto. Her Master's thesis involved evaluating and redesigning a radiation therapy delivery system. With her prototype, she successfully reduced the error rates and increased efficiency of the treatment process. Alvita also holds a BSc in Engineering Chemistry from Queen's University with first class honors.
